A Crazy Sexy Spiritual Life!

If you are anything like how most people are, if you hear a discussion about spiritual life or spirituality, you probably think of the nuns in monasteries or half naked yogis in the Himalayas. Even today about 90% of the population anywhere view the very word spirit as somewhat of a borderline taboo which is not to be discussed about in public. People generally think that a spiritual life must be a life of self sacrifice and renunciation. The truth is very far away! Interestingly, as you will end up finding out for yourself, a true spiritual life opens up the doors that lead to undreamed of freedom and divine ecstasy.

While there are many faiths that take many roads of understanding, basic spirituality is simple and is based on the following principles:

a. The Creator of this Universe is omnipotent intelligence that pervades all reality.

b. All creation comes from this divine Source or Energy.

c. There is reason and purpose for this universe to exist.

d. Very simply put the reason is evolution. The universe evolves itself from lower states of intelligence and energy to the higher and higher levels until it merges back with the infinite Intelligence that created it.

e. Humans have always felt disconnected from this divine intelligence or God. Trying to fill the void of separation in their hearts (sometimes even unaware what it is they are feeling), humans have struggled in many different ways. Some of these unfruitful ways are trying to control other people, food, drugs, alcohol, sex etc.

f. When this awareness is regained or the link with God is reestablished, amazing bliss and true sense of peace is experienced.

g. When we experience this amazing bliss and freedom, we are automatically driven to help others experience the same.

This is the essence and goal of a spiritual life.

Interestingly, once you awaken, you begin to notice that there are many invisible forces that shape the way your life unfolds! These unseen forces begin to make all kinds of beneficial things happen for you, without you even asking for it. These are the miracles that people on a spiritual journey very commonly seem to experience. As you awaken more and more, the miracles and synchronicities keep happening in greater extent. It’s as if God has become part of your everyday life in a very practical way. Every prayer is important, every wish is granted, every circumstance turns out favorable. In the most amazing ways all prayers are answered and materialized. Something that is beyond the wildest dreams of most people, you begin to enjoy a freedom that is simply incredible!

When we look at the yogis on a mountain or monks in the monasteries what we do not realize is that we are looking at someone who has given up the transitory material gains for a kingdom of heavenly treasures. Someone who has received a freedom beyond time and space in exchange of our false sense of physical freedom. Someone who has exchanged little earthly pleasures for divine bliss and ecstasy! Looking at it this way we may suddenly understand the absurdity of our corporate culture and our struggle to exchange our life for a credit card and a house. This does not mean that to live a spiritual life, you have to give up all your material gains. You can keep whatever you want to, but sometimes it just makes no sense to keep the unnecessary chains of our materially focused societies.

A true spiritual life allows you to gradually prepare your heavily programmed mind to see beyond the material obvious and perceive the higher truths. Slowly you are able to understand the universal laws of creation and leverage on them for your own life. When you are able to do that, life becomes filled with magic, miracles and wonder. The whole universe comes together to help you move forward and realize your dreams. For now, your dreams and dreams of the universe has become one. The dreams of the One.
