Review Of The Acclaimed Arctic Sport Winter Boots From Muck Boots

Towards the beginning of this year, I was given the chance to try out and write a review for these new Arctic Winter Sport boots that people are raving about. How convenient that I happen to live in a frigid part of the US during the winter season, northern New York State, where the temperature is normally around the zero degree mark. And as luck would have it, we had one of the harshest winters in years last winter.

The first thing I liked about the boots after I took them out of the box was the overall feel and thickness of the rubber, a lot thicker than you would expect. Then there is this nylon like upper that is very smooth feeling but stretches to fit around your calf. Remember your old rubber boots when you were a kids and how often the snow used to fall in from the top? Great feeling wasn’t it?

Inside the boot there’s this breathable type nylon lining that’s covered with fleece. I like fleece, and this reminded me of a very big fleece sock. I like fleece, and this reminded me of a very big fleece sock. As I tried the boots on in my living room, I immediately noticed how flexible they were, no break-in period here. Walking around was a breeze, the boots are much lighter than they appear, giving your legs a bit of a break when walking through two feet of snow.

Now comes the real test, how warm and dry will they actually keep my feet? The day theses arrived on my doorstep, it happened to be zero degrees out, so I figured a good day for a test. Once I got outside I walked on shoveled sidewalk for three or four blocks, and then onto snow covered ground for quite a ways. My feet felt great, what didn’t last were my face and my hands, and I thought I had heavy duty gloves on too.

Once inside, I got all this winter gear off me sat by the fire and was relieved that there was no familiar burning sensation on my feet; you know that feeling when your skin is just about to get frostbite? Since then, I don’t go anywhere in the winter without these boots, I’m actually hooked now. Mostly I wear them for the comfort, which I find outstanding. If you need a solid, comfortable waterproof boot, that will keep you feet nice and warm no matter what you are doing outside, I would suggest you check these Arctic Sport Muck boots out, your feet will love you for it.
